[edit] Special issue of OMICS based on the 5th GSC Workshop

Dawn Field, Susanna-Assunta Sansone and George Garrity were invited by OMICS Editor-In-Chief Eugene Kolker to produce a special issue of OMICS based on the 5th GSC Workshop. After guaging interest from different authors during the workshop the table of contents of the issue was formalized on the third day.

[edit] Community Consultation on contributions

[edit] Draft stage

Authors are strongly encouraged to circulate their papers widely within the GSC and beyond (self-initiated peer-review) prior to submission to make sure the opinions expressed and roadmaps presented reflect consensus and are as well thought out and useful as possible. All authors are encouraged (with Eugene Kolker's permission) to post their submitted papers (Feb 15th deadline) to the wiki (below). This community consultation will run until until the end of Feb, the time at which all submissions must be submitted in final form for publication. To make sure your suggestions are incorporated, please respond as soon as possible.

Posting to the wiki will also facilite the many linkages that need to be made between papers (cross-referencing within the issue).

Please provide feedback directly to the authors or Editors (Dawn Field, George Garrity, Susanna Sansone).

Draft Table of Contents with lead authors of all contributions

THIS CONSULATION WAS CLOSED March 1, 2008.

[edit] Special issue of OMICS based on the 2nd GSC Workshop

Dawn Field and Susanna Sansone guest edited a special issue of the journal OMICS on data standards as an output of the 2nd GSC workshop. There were 22 invited papers including 5 in the area of standardization of genomic data (See: http://gensc.org/gc_wiki/index.php/GSC_Publications#Special_Issue_of_OMICS).

An overview of the issue and its goals is captured in the foreword: http://www.liebertonline.com/doi/pdfplus/10.1089/omi.2006.10.84

The entire issue was open source and many of the papers in the issue continue to be at the top of the most downloaded list: http://www.liebertonline.com/action/showMostReadArticles?journalCode=omi
