- Eppendorf has joined our Industry Annual Subscription Program.*The first GSC Hackathon was held at the EBI from January 16-18, 2012.
 GSC 14 will be held in Oxford, UK, September 17-19, 2012. There are plans for a satellite meeting on September 20 and a hackathon on September 20 and 21. More details to follow soon.
 The very successful GSC 13 meeting (local page) was held at BGI, Shenzhen, China, March 5-7, 2012. Short BGI News item. Presentations are available from SciVee.

 An open-access article describing the GSC's MIxS standard has been published in Nature Biotechnology - it includes the MIMARKS checklist and the set of environmental packages applicable to all GSC checklists and beyond.
 GSC 12 and satellite meetings were held in Bremen, Germany from September 27-30, 2011. Video footage as well as all of the slide presentations are available from the GSC 12 wiki page.
