Background
|
The GSC has written a manuscript describing the rationale behind MIGS for submission to Nature Biotechnology. It has already undergone rigorous review and we have responded to 5 reviewer assessments to produce an improved version which was resubmitted in late December 2006. The revised version of the paper was also heavily influenced by deliberations at the 3rd GSC workshop and contains an updated MIGS checklist in the form of a table posted to the web. As part of this journal's efforts to help foster the standards it is now undertaking a second milestone step in the review process. It is subjecting the paper (and related papers) to a round of community consultation. Once this consultation is completed the journal will make its final decision on the suitability of the manuscript for publication. The GSC's MIGS paper is only one of several papers in this community consultation and all are posted for comment. |
