[edit] Introduction
Provide comprehensive, aligned and quality checked SSU and LSU ribosomal RNA databases for all three domains of life.
[edit] Genomic Rosetta Stone
Participating in GRS AND GRS Resolver
[edit] Identifier Policy
- We do not use own identifiers, our records are made unique by a combination of accession number plus the start position of the rRNA
[edit] Identifier Mapping
- Currently "manual" addition of INSDC/PIDs numbers to the rRNA sequences via accession numbers from the Excel sheet prepared by Peter Sterk
- Planned: automatic addition of INSDC/PIDs provided by EMBL releases to our sequences for cross referencing to GCAT
- Problem: only main genome entries in EMBL have INSDC/PID number assigned, segments have not, rRNAs are mostly found on segments.
- Guy Chochrane promised that this issue is solved in the next releases of EMBL. In the meantime we will exchange lists.
- Linkout to GCat will be relaized by a resolver either from GSC or provided by Linkout from NCBI.
