Search NCBI BioSample for MIxS Samples

The BioSample database stores submitter-supplied descriptive information, or metadata, about the biological materials from which data stored in NCBI’s primary data archives are derived. The database is diverse; typical examples of a BioSample include a cell line, a primary tissue biopsy, an individual organism or an environmental isolate.
It is possible to search for BioSamples that contain MIxS-data. Search can be either on the checklist type (MIGS, MIMS or MIMARKS), or different environmental packages.
This example query retrieves all BioSamples that use the built environment package:
